The cartoonist Jean Giraud the pen name Moebius began drawing science fiction. He made his debut in the magazine *Pilote*, where he co-created the now-famousBlueberryseries with Jean-Michel Charlier. It wasn’t until 1963 that he adopted his new name. He then drew for *L’écho des savanes*, and later forMétal Hurlant, where his most significant comics appeared. His realistic and precise style did not stifle his creativity; instead, he gave free rein to his most daring visions. His meeting with Alejandro Jodorowsky gave his career new momentum, and together they created the *L’Incal* series, which quickly became a landmark work. Jodorowsky also introduced Moebius the world of cinema. He worked on the costumes and storyboards for Ridley Scott’s *Alien*, followed by *Willow* and *The Abyss*. He also collaborated with French directors: Luc Besson on *The Fifth Element* and Jan Kounen on the adaptation ofBlueberry*. In 2010, the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art dedicated a magnificent retrospective to him, titledMoebius .” Two years later, Jean Giraud after a long illness.
