This book is a collection of interviews in which Pratt talks about his character, but also about his creative writing, his travels and his encounters. It's the perfect opportunity to learn more about Corto Maltese and the personality of its creator. While the author's aim is to emphasize the literary aspect of Pratt's work, this does not mean that the book is reductive. He simply wanted to highlight another very important aspect of the Italian author's work. Hence the title of the book-catalogue and the exhibition devoted to him in Rome (Museo del Vittoriano) from September 8 to October 22, 2006. The illustrations in the book are those created between 1967, the date of Corto Maltese's birth, and 1992. The book will also include plates from his last story, as well as lesser-known photos of the author.
